I am in my high school's drumline, and have been in it for 1 year. I am playing bass, since I had never touched a drum before in my life, and since there were only bass openings during that year. Throughout the year however, I did lessons with one of the snares, and have gotten WAYY better. Like seriously. I just finished learning the hardest snare peice of the year and can play it at full tempo. Next week when tryouts happen, there will be 4 open snare spots, and one snare is staying. (he's a junior, and the rest are graduating.) My friend who is also a bass and I (who is a tad better than me since he started taking lessons before me) are both trying out. Our instructor is an ex Blue Devil member (so you know what the expectations are) So anyways does anyone have some tips I should be sure to remember when trying out?
